3 nabbed in Rizal illegal LPG trade; P8.4-M equipment seized
Three individuals were arrested for illegal Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) trading, while equipment valued at P8,481,000 was seized during a buy-bust operation in Rodriguez, Rizal on Wednesday, May 6.

The Rizal Police Provincial Office (Rizal PPO) the suspects, identified as “Elvira,” 51; “Ruth,” 36; and “Rodel,” 26, were arrested following the operation conducted by the Provincial Intelligence Unit (PIU) in Sitio Harangan, Barangay San Isidro at 3:49 p.m.
The operation stemmed from information received about the alleged illegal trading of LPG in the area.
Upon arriving in the area, operatives caught the suspects in the act of violating Republic Act 11592, also known as the LPG Industry Regulation Act.
Confiscated items included an 11-kilogram LPG tank and a 2.7-kilogram LPG tank used in the operation.
Also seized were 248 pieces of empty 11-kilogram LPG cylinders, 22 pieces of 2.7-kilogram LPG cylinders, two storage tanks, and two bullet trailers.
The suspects are currently in police custody.
Rizal PPO director Col. Eleazar R. Barber reminded the public that the law against illegal LPG trading is strictly enforced, as it directly affects public safety.
“Ang ganitong uri ng operasyon ay patunay na hindi natin kukunsintihin ang mga gawaing naglalagay sa panganib sa ating komunidad (This kind of operation is proof that we will not tolerate activities that put our community at risk),” he added.
