Unidentified man found dead under Gen. Trias footbridge

CAVITE – An unidentified man was found dead under a footbridge along Governor’s Drive in Barangay Manggahan, General Trias City, Tuesday night, May 5.
A report from the Police Regional Office 4A said a concerned citizen discovered the man lying face down beside the footbridge’s non-operational elevator and immediately reported the incident to the authorities.
The victim was described as 38 to 45 years old, medium built, tanned skin, and 5'7" to 5'9" tall. He was wearing a maroon jersey sando, black shorts, a white and blue cap, and red slippers.
Upon examination of the victim, City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office personnel confirmed that he no longer had a pulse and vital signs and may have been dead for several hours before being discovered.
Authorities said the victim sustained visible injuries on the head, left leg, and back, which may have resulted from a fall into the lower portion of the elevator area. However, police said foul play has not been ruled out pending further investigation.
An autopsy will be requested from the Provincial Forensic Unit to determine the exact cause and manner of death.
Police are establishing the identity of the victim and the circumstances surrounding his death.
