A 20-year-old construction worker facing a statutory rape case was arrested in Taguig City on Tuesday, May 5.
The accused was identified as alias Seanley, tagged by Taguig police as the No. 3 most wanted person in the southern part of Metro Manila for May.
He was nabbed by operatives of the Taguig Police Warrant and Subpoena Section in Barangay North Daang Hari, Taguig, based on a warrant issued on March 4 by Presiding Judge Bryon San Pedro of the Taguig Family Court Branch 15. No bail was recommended.
The accused did not resist arrest. He was brought to the Taguig City Health Office for a medical examination.
Republic Act No. 11648, passed in 2022, raised the age of sexual consent from 12 to 16.
Brig. Gen. Glenn Oliver Cinco, Southern Police District director, said, “The arrest of one of our district’s most wanted individuals highlights our relentless effort to ensure that offenders are held accountable, especially in cases involving serious crimes such as statutory rape.”
