AN OFW lounge opens at Zamboanga International Airport on Tuesday.
ZAMBOANGA CITY – The first Overseas Filipino Workers Lounge at the Zamboanga International Airport here was inaugurated on Tuesday, May 5.
The lounge, the first in the Zamboanga Peninsula, aims to provide migrant workers with improved level of convenience and service and meets the standard delivered by the government for the country’s modern-day heroes.
Department of Migrant Workers Assistant Secretary Jerome Alcantara led the inauguration together with DMW-9 Director Gay Iris Tangcalagan.
“The facility is designed as a one-stop hub where workers can conveniently access essential services such as OEC/OFW pass processing, OWWA membership assistance, and other frontline support,” Tangcalagan said.
Mayor Khymer Olaso said the city government fully supports the undertaking and reiterated their commitment for the benefit of migrant workers.
