Taguig City Mayor Lani Cayetano joined residents and organizers at the first St. John’s Bambang Pickleball Tournament 2026, held at Mahogany Place 1 in Acacia Estates, Taguig.
Cayetano expressed her support for community-based sports programs that encourage active lifestyles and strengthen social connections among residents.
The event, organized by Barangay Bambang, brought together locals for a day of sports and community activities, highlighting the growing popularity of pickleball in the area.
Barangay Captain Ryan Esteban and his wife, Amy Esteban, led the initiative as part of efforts to promote wellness and community engagement among residents.
The tournament featured Novice and Low Intermediate divisions, with winners receiving medals and cash prizes.
Organizers said the activity also served as a platform to strengthen relationships within the community, promote sportsmanship, and encourage interaction among residents.
The event was also attended by barangay officials, homeowners’ groups, coaches, volunteers, and community partners.
Organizers added that the successful staging of the inaugural pickleball tournament signals the start of more community-centered activities aimed at bringing residents together and promoting a healthy and active lifestyle in Barangay Bambang.
