Farmer fatally shot by 3 unidentified men

BACOLOD CITY – A 53-year-old farmer was gunned down in Sitio Agbalatuan, Barangay Dolis, Calatrava, Negros Occidental on Tuesday, May 5.
Police said the victim and his wife were about to leave their house when three unidentified men appeared.
The suspects asked the victim to step out of his house for a conversation.
The victim ran towards his house after the conversation. The suspects followed and fatally shot him.
The gunmen fled toward Barangay Maaslob, Calatrava.
Recovered from the house were two spent 9mm cartridge cases and a .45 caliber cartridge case.
Police have persons of interest and do not discount the possibility that the killing could be linked to insurgency or land dispute.
Further investigation is ongoing.
