'Biglang bawi': Jonvic not keen on 2028 presidential race, to run for Cavite gov instead
By Chito Chavez
In what seems to be a complete turnaround, Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) Secretary Juanito Victor “Jonvic’’ Remulla said he is now inclined to run for Cavite governor despite earlier pronouncement of his readiness to be the next Philippine president.
Claiming to still have “unfinished business’’ in the province, Remulla remained mum on his supposed 2028 presidential bid, saying he prefers to have another run for governor in Cavite, believing that the voters might not be ready yet for his leadership style if he runs for the presidency.
Further, Remulla asserted his readiness to fix the country’s woes but insisted that his approach and language may differ from what the voters expect.
Earlier, Remulla declared his readiness to be the country’s next president.
A recent survey, however, showed Remulla lagging behind top presidential contenders like Vice President Sara Dutete and Naga City Mayor Leni Robredo.
