Hairstylist arrested for large-scale illegal recruitment in Batangas

LEMERY, Batangas - A 55-year-old hairstylist was arrested for large-scale illegal recruitment in Barangay Sangalang here on Monday, May 4.

Police identified the suspect as Roy.

He was nabbed by the Mataas Na Kahoy (Batangas) Municipal Police Station and the 1st Batangas Provincial Mobile Force Company.

Roy was tagged as the most wanted person in Calabarzon region.

He was apprehended on a warrant of arrest issued by the Regional Trial Court, Branch 85, Quezon City, dated Aug. 3, 2020, with no bail recommended.

Police Col. Meliton Salvadora, Batangas police director, lauded operating units for the arrest of the suspect.

"The Batangas police continue to strengthen its operations to ensure the safety and well-being of members of the community who may be targets of these criminal activities, and we are committed to Matatag na Pagbabantay (steadfast guarding), ensuring peace and security of the province.”

Roy is detained at the Mataas na Kahoy police station while awaiting the return of the warrant of arrest to the court of origin.
