Ahn Hyo-seop teams up with Khalid for surprise single 'Something Special'
Korean-Canadian actor Ahn Hyo-seop and multi-platinum recording artist Khalid are set to release a collaborative single titled “Something Special,” marking a cross-genre partnership between K-pop and U.S. R&B.
Scheduled for release on May 22, the track is produced by Woo “Rainstone” Rhee, known for his work on “Nobody” by Wonder Girls, and co-produced by Grammy Award-winning producer Troy “R8DIO” Johnson, who contributed to Solange’s album “A Seat at the Table.”
The single marks Ahn’s debut as a solo recording artist and Khalid’s first collaboration with a Korean performer.
Ahn is known for roles in dramas such as “Dr. Romantic,” “Lovers of the Red Sky,” “Business Proposal,” “A Time Called You,” and “Sold Out on You.”
“Something Special” will be released under Fandom, a platform developed by Musicow in partnership with Roc Nation.
According to its developers, Fandom aims to reshape how audiences engage with music by offering interactive, fan-centered experiences tied to releases. The launch of “Something Special” is expected to include a series of fan-focused initiatives designed to deepen engagement around the single.
