Members of K-pop girl group Aespa, Karina and Ningning, made their first appearance at the Met Gala, stepping onto one of fashion’s most prestigious red carpets in New York City.
Karina attended the event in a custom Prada ensemble, wearing a white double silk satin dress with a tablier neckline, detailed with jet bead and silver crystal embroidery. The look was complemented by a cape featuring a neckline inspired by the traditional Korean hanbok, offering a subtle nod to her cultural heritage.
She completed the outfit with a satin clutch, silver leather sandals, and Prada Fine Jewelry Couleur Vivante earrings in white gold, adorned with peridot, amethyst, and diamonds. The styling highlighted her poised and modern aesthetic.
Karina, who has served as a Prada brand ambassador since 2024, continues to strengthen her presence in the global fashion scene, representing the brand with a distinct visual identity.
Ningning, meanwhile, wore a Gucci couture black dress characterized by layered textures and a balance of softness and structure. The design featured three-dimensional pleated ruffles inspired by organic forms, along with black crystal embroidery that created a striking silhouette.
The gown’s construction played with movement, revealing and concealing the body while maintaining a sense of lightness. Ningning, recently named a global brand ambassador for Gucci, further solidified her growing influence in the fashion industry through her appearance at the event.
This year’s Met Gala theme, “Fashion is Art,” is tied to the Metropolitan Museum of Art’s Costume Institute exhibition, underscoring the intersection of fashion and artistic expression.
Beyond their fashion engagements, Aespa is set to release the new track “WDA (Whole Different Animal)” on May 11, ahead of their second studio album, “LEMONADE,” scheduled for May 29. The group is also preparing for a world tour later this summer.
