Government anti-narcotics authorities seized on Sunday, May 3, around P61 million worth of suspected shabu following the arrest of four talleged drug personalities during a buy-bust operation in General Trias, Cavite, the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) stated.
In a statement, the PDEA said that the suspects with aliases “Asil,’’ “Almukrim,’’ “Alshamier’’ and “Dharwina’’ were collared at around 2 p.m. in Barangay Bacao 1 after an extensive surveillance operation.
As soon as the undercover agent signalled that the deal was consummated, the PDEA Regional Office-National Capital Region (NCR) Northern District Office, PDEA RO-NCR Regional Special Enforcement Team 2, PDEA Regional Office IV-A Cavite Provincial Office, Cavite Maritime Police Station and the PNP General Trias City Police Station operatives stationed in various strategic positions immediately pounced on the suspects.
Upon further search, authorities discovered 9,000 grams of suspected shabu concealed in nine blue foil packs labeled “Very Delicious,” buy-bust money, three identification cards, two mobile phones and a black van believed to have been used in the suspects’ illegal drug trade.
The suspects remain in the custody of authorities and face charges for violation of Republic Act No. 9165 or “The Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002’’.
