Career dev't program launched to address job mismatch in Western Visayas

ILOILO CITY – The Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) and partners are working together to address job mismatch in Western Visayas region.
DOLE-6 signed a memorandum of agreement to create the working group for the Career Development Support Program (CDSP) during the Labor Day Job Fair in Iloilo City.
DOLE-6 Director Sixto Rodriguez Jr. said the CDSP will strengthen coordination among education, training, and employment sectors in addressing job mismatch.
The CDSP will be anchored on CARE (Career guidance and assessment; Access to training or job matching; Referral for employment or livelihood; and employment) framework.
The framework will improve the pathway of career guidance in employment in Aklan, Antique, Capiz, Guimaras, and Iloilo provinces as well as in the regional capital of Iloilo City.
Partner agencies and networks are the Commission on Higher Education (CHED), Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA), Department of Education (DepEd), Department of Science and Technology (DOST), Professional Regulation Commission (PRC), the Federation of Public Employment Service Manager (PESO) Managers of the Philippines-Western Visayas, human resources network, and guidance counselors.
