Isabela native Police Brig. Gen. Mariano Rodriguez assumed office as Police Regional Office-2 director on Friday, May 1.

Rodriguez met the command group, regional staff, chiefs of
regional support units, police commissioned officers, police non-commissioned officers, and non-uniformed personnel here, a day after he was sworn in on Thursday, April 30, at the Philippine National Police headquarters in Camp Crame, Quezon City.He stressed the importance of discipline, unity, and adherence to the PNP focused agenda and reinforced his commitment to efficient and responsive public service.
Rodriguez noted the need for strengthened coordination and proactive policing strategies to better serve communities in the region.
The event was attended by Rodriguez’s family, local officials, and stakeholders.
Meanwhile, police arrested a 44-year-old farmer wanted for murder in Barangay Bautista, San Agustin, Isabela on May 1.
The suspect was identified as Elarde from Dipaculao, Aurora, listed as No. 1 wanted person in Central Luzon and the municipality. Elarde’s warrant of arrest was issued in 2022 by a regional trial court in Aurora.
Elarde is under the custody of the San Agustin police for proper turnover to the issuing court.
