The Quezon City government has announced an adjusted traffic management scheme along Katipunan Kaliwa Street (Lokaria Street), from Mindanao Avenue to King Alexander Street, in connection with the ongoing construction of the NLEX–C5 Northlink Segment 8.2 Section 1A.
A stop-and-go scheme for Class 1 vehicles will be implemented from April 30 until 9:59 p.m. of May 7, followed by a full closure from 10 p.m. of May 7 until 5 a.m. of May 11.
The scheduled reopening of Katipunan Kaliwa Street on May 4 has been postponed due to the continuation of construction works as directed by the NLEX Corporation.
The full closure will allow the curing process to proceed, ensuring the structural integrity and durability of the project.
Motorists are advised to take alternative routes and plan their trips ahead of time to avoid delays during the implementation of the traffic scheme.
Traffic enforcers will be deployed in the area to manage vehicular flow, while directional signages will be installed to guide motorists passing through nearby roads.
The city government appealed for public understanding, noting that the project is expected to improve long-term connectivity in the area.
