House Speaker Faustino “Bojie” Dy III on Friday, May 1 hailed the Filipino worker as the backbone and driving force of the nation’s progress.
In his Labor Day message, Dy paid tribute to Filipino workers at home and abroad, as he cited their vital role in driving the Philippine economy and shaping the country’s future.
(In celebrating Labor Day, we recognize the vital role of every worker in advancing our economy and shaping the future of our nation. You are the strength and lifeblood of our country.)
“Kayo ang nagsisilbing lakas at buhay ng ating bansa—you are the true lifeblood of our nation.
(You are the strength and lifeblood of our nation. Through your diligence, perseverance, and sacrifice, the industries, services, and progress of the Philippines continue to move forward.)
At the same time, Dy acknowledged the persistent challenges faced by workers, including issues on wages, benefits, job security, and working conditions.
(We know that our workers still face many challenges—from wages and benefits to job security and decent working conditions.)
The Speaker from Isabela's 6th district assured that the House remains committed to advancing the well-being of workers through legislation and policy measures.
(That is why in the House of Representatives, we continue to uphold the welfare of Filipino workers. We will keep pushing for bills and measures that strengthen protection, opportunities, and dignity for workers.)
Dy stressed that the government must match the dedication of workers with the same level of commitment to their welfare.
“Your hard work keeps our nation moving. It is only right that government works just as hard to protect your welfare and to support your aspirations,” he said.
The House leader ended his message with a salute to Filipino workers for their sacrifices and enduring contribution to the nation.
Mabuhay ang manggagawang Pilipino, at mabuhay ang Pilipinas," he said.
(To all Filipino workers, we salute you. Long live the Filipino worker, and long live the Philippines.)
