In an unexpected crossover, Houston Rockets forward Kevin Durant has gone viral for signing a fan's Durant Pokémon card.
Twitter user Nicole_Liz8 later shared the courtside video of them asking Kevin to sign the card after the card grading company Professional Sports Authenticator (PSA) shared the news. Kevin was seen smiling at the humorous request. PSA grades the card with a PSA 8.5 overall grade, scoring higher than Kevin's signature graded eight.
While Durant Pokémon cards aren't exactly in high demand, often priced at an average of ₱1,837.94 ($30), Kevin Durant's NBA cards are known to fetch a pretty price. One of his cards from his time as a player for the Seattle SuperSonics, once sold for a whopping ₱47.7 million ($760,000). Meanwhile, the highest priced Durant Pokémon card is usually priced around ₱9,802.32 ($160).
NBA cards and Pokémon cards have always been known for their crazy high prices. For NBA cards, the most expensive card ever sold was an autographed card of Kobe Bryant and Michael Jordan. Their card sold for over ₱792 million ($12.932 million). As for Pokémon, controversial YouTuber Logan Paul recently broke the record for selling the most expensive card at a price of ₱1.01 billion ($16.492 million). It is also considered the most expensive trading card ever sold.
