DAGUPAN CITY, Pangasinan – This city and San Juan City signed a sisterhood agreement on Thursday to boost tourism, culture, education, youth development, disaster resilience, and economic advancement.
San Juan City Mayor Francis M. Zamora, also the national president of the League of Cities of the Philippines, signed the agreement with Mayor Belen Fernandez.
Witnessing the signing were San Juan City Tourism Officer Brian Geli, former San Juan City Councilor Paul Artadi, Dagupan Vice Mayor BK Kua, the Sangguniang Panlungsod, Executive Judge Dorothy Padilla, City Legal Officer Aurora Valle, Chief of Staff Luz de Guzman, and Dagupan City Police chief Police Col. Arnold Solomon, among others.
Fernandez said the agreement opens more opportunities for collaboration, especially in trade, promotion, and local governance initiatives.
She cited the impressive programs of San Juan City and said their best practices can inspire further development in Dagupan.
Meanwhile, Zamora announced plans to sell the iconic Dagupan bangus at the Greenhills Shopping Center in San Juan City.
The initiative is expected to open more opportunities for local fisherfolk and producers and give the product stronger visibility in a major urban marketplace.
The signing coincided with the celebration of the Bangus Festival.
