BINI dedicates Billboard Global Force award to fellow OPM Artists
Marking another milestone as the second Filipino artist to receive the Global Force Award, the nation’s girl group BINI expressed pride and gratitude for the recognition as they continue to represent Filipino talent on the international stage.
The Billboard Women in Music Awards 2026 was held on April 29 (April 30 in the Philippines) at the Hollywood Palladium in Los Angeles, hosted by Keke Palmer, with model-actress Cara Delevingne presenting the award to BINI.
Before introducing the group on stage, Delevingne described BINI as “sweetness, sparkle, and sisterhood breaking through the screen,” recalling their rise during the pandemic era when they first debuted.
She also highlighted the group’s growing global presence, noting that BINI recently became the first homegrown Filipino pop act to perform at the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival.
The group’s song “Cherry on Top” played as BINI stepped onstage to receive the award from Cara.
“Good evening, everyone. We are BINI, an eight-member girl group from the Philippines. Thank you, Billboard, for this Global Force Award. Standing here tonight is something we in BINI could only dream about. We are deeply honored to be given the chance to represent Filipino music and artists back home,” Colet shared.
Colet also acknowledged fellow honorees, saying she is a big fan of artists such as Thalia, Kehlani, Teyana Taylor, and Laufey.
“This is not just a milestone for us but also a responsibility we carry with so much pride. We also want to acknowledge our co-awardees tonight, who we look up to. We are big, big fans of yours. We can’t believe we’re in the same room, breathing the same air,” she added.
Meanwhile, BINI’s leader Jhoanna highlighted young girls watching the ceremony and hoped to inspire them to pursue their dreams. She also expressed gratitude to ABS-CBN for believing in the group from the beginning.
“Just like these artists, we hope that we also inspire young girls watching this, and that they realize their dreams are valid, no matter where they come from. To our families—hi mom, dad, we’re finally here! To our supporters, our BLOOMs—hi BLOOMs, we miss you! And of course, our company ABS-CBN, thank you so much for taking a chance on these eight women and believing in us since day one,” Jhoanna said.
Near the end of the speech, Jhoanna also gave a shoutout to OPM artists and expressed pride in representing the Philippines.
“Shoutout as well to Billboard Philippines for always supporting Filipino music and Filipino artists. We accept this award not just as BINI, but more importantly as proud Filipinas. Again, we are BINI. Maraming salamat at mabuhay ang musikang Pilipino,” she said.
