ZAMBOANGA CITY – Applicants trooped to several job fairs held by the Department of Labor and Employment-9 in the Zamboanga Peninsula on Labor Day.
These were held in Zamboanga City, Ipil, Zamboanga Sibugay; Pagadian City, Zamboanga del Sur, and Zamboanga del Norte province.
The job fair in Zamboanga City reported on-the-spot hiring of 22 job applicants. The job fair held in a mall offered 2,671 job opportunities from 22 local and five overseas employers.
The event also offered a one-stop shop where services from government offices and agencies were available for smoother hiring of applicants.
Similar setups were made in other venues which offered more than 2,000 job opportunities each.
Other activities in line with this year’s 124th Labor Day celebration were the opening program, the ceremonial turnover of “Benteng Bigas Meron Na” program benefiting 12,525 minimum wage earners from the canning industry, awarding of TESDA tool kits and training support, and a medical mission benefiting 278 individuals.
