The Quezon City Police District (QCPD) has intensified its manhunt for two motorcycle-riding gunmen whose escape route was captured on CCTV footage after they killed two men in a daylight ambush along Timog Avenue.
Police identified the fatalities as alias “Norberto,” 51, a driver from Cubao, and alias “Ceferino,” 75, a businessman from UP Teachers Village East, who were declared dead at East Avenue Medical Center.
Initial investigation revealed that a Metropolitan Manila Development Authority traffic enforcer, who responded after hearing gunfire, found the victims inside and beside a white Suzuki S-Presso vehicle. Norberto had three gunshot wounds and Ceferino sustained six.
CCTV footage later reviewed by authorities showed that the attack was carried out by two men riding a matte blue-and-black Yamaha Mio 125 motorcycle, who immediately fled the scene.
Follow-up operations led to the recovery of the suspects’ abandoned getaway motorcycle on Scout Rallos near Ybardolaza Street, which is now undergoing forensic examination.
Police also recovered spent cartridge cases, deformed bullets, and latent fingerprints from both the crime scene and the victims’ vehicle.
Additional items recovered from the motorcycle included latent prints from two helmets and the side mirror, as well as a surgical mask and a blue bonnet believed to have been used by the suspects.
All recovered evidence is undergoing laboratory examination to identify the suspects and establish the motive behind the attack.
The QCPD said coordinated manhunt operations remain in full swing as authorities pursue all leads to track down and arrest the perpetrators.
The public is urged to report any information that may assist the investigation through E911, QC Helpline 122, or +63 998 598 7960 to help expedite the resolution of the case.
