The Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO) has delivered a total of P18.2 million worth of medical equipment and financial assistance to the provincial government of Oriental Mindoro to boost public healthcare services in the province.
In a statement, PCSO said the turnover aligns with the directive of President Marcos to strengthen public health access and is expected to be a game-changer for the Oriental Mindoro Provincial Hospital (OMPH).
PCSO General Manager Melquiades “Mel” Robles and Oriental Mindoro Governor Humerlito “Bonz” Dolor led the turnover.
The agency said the P18-million donation includes one digital X-ray machine, five ventilators, and eight electrocardiogram (ECG) units, which are essential tools that are often the difference between life and death in critical care settings.

The PCSO said it also turned over the province’s P247,486.75 Lotto LGU share, providing additional funding for local programs and services.
In his speech, Robles underscored the importance of equipping provincial healthcare facilities with modern equipment.
“Sa dami ng nangangailangan sa ating bayan, naniniwala kami na bawat maliit na tulong na naibibigay ay may kakayahang magdulot ng malaking pagbabago sa buhay ng iba (With the many people in our country who are in need, we believe that every small assistance we provide has the power to bring about a significant change in the lives of others),” he said.
“At (And) we promise to give more, at (and) we soar to give more,” he added.
For his part, Governor Dolor expressed appreciation for the assistance, saying the additional equipment and funding are expected to directly benefit patients and further enhance the province’s healthcare system.
