- Miguel Tanfelix takes on his first solo hosting role in Planet XP, an immersive infotainment special that brings him face-to-face with nature, culture, and communities across the Philippines.
For Miguel Tanfelix, learning has never been something confined to classrooms or scripts. It has always been something experienced first-hand, often through travel and discovery.
The heartthrob has long been open about his love for exploring.
Last year, his solo trip across South America drew attention online, with netizens admiring not just the destinations he visited, but the courage it took to go on the journey alone.
Since then, he has quietly continued to inspire others to step outside their comfort zones and see more of the world for themselves.
That mindset finds its perfect home in his latest project, “Planet XP."
The magazine infotainment special takes viewers into immersive experiences across the Philippines, blending adventure with cultural encounters and environmental appreciation.
From mountain climbing and windsurfing to engaging with indigenous communities, Miguel dives into activities that highlight both the country’s natural beauty and the richness of its people.
The experience is as personal as it is professional for Miguel.
“Napatunayan ko rito na hindi sapat na pinapanood mo lang sa social media ‘yung adventures. Kailangan ma-experience mo firsthand ang pag-connect sa nature dahil marami kang matututunan,” he shares.
Beyond the physical challenges, Miguel sees “Planet XP” as a meaningful platform with a larger purpose.
“Bilang artista, kailangan piliin mong mabuti ang mga project at advocacy mo,” he says. “Itong 'PLanet XP' may campaign ito para sa iba’t ibang community sa Pilipinas at pino-promote nito ang pag-aalaga sa nature.”
Miguel embraces the demands of the show fully.
“Gusto ko talaga na maging involved sa ganitong uri ng trabaho,” he says. “Na-e-enjoy kong ma-experience ‘yung mga adventure kasi mas natututo ako. Yung outdoor activities na na-try ko rito, for me it’s a recharge. Kahit nakakapagod physically, masaya siya emotionally. May fulfillment.”
Produced in partnership with GMA Network and the National Council for Children’s Television (NCCT), "Planet XP" is a five-episode program under the 2024 National Endowment Fund for Children’s Television (NEFCTV). It will feature Filipino Sign Language interpretation and closed captioning for accessibility.
“Planet XP” will air Saturdays at 6:30 p.m. on GMA, starting May 2.
