According to Senate Secretary Mark Llandro “Dong” Mendoza, he may stay there for four to seven days.
"Ang advice naman ng doctors niya, ano siya siguro, 4 to 7 days na magse-stay sa hospital. Pero kung maayos naman ‘yun ano niya, ma-ano siya, kahit mga 5 days pwede na siya bumalik dito sa Senate (The doctors advised that he would probably need to stay in the hospital for about 4 to 7 days. But if his condition improves, even after just 5 days, he could already return to the Senate.)," Mendoza said.
Mendoza stated that Discaya was not handcuffed when he was brought out from the Senate's detention facility. He was transported to the hospital in an ambulance escorted by police.
While in the hospital, Mendoza said that they will apply the same security measures.
“Same pa rin. Kung ano ‘yung set up dito sa Senate, gano’n pa rin. May nagbabantay pa rin sa kanya (It’s still the same set-up here in the Senate. He still has someone assigned to watch over him),” he said.
Like in the Senate, only limited guests will be allowed to visit Discaya from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., adding that cellphones will also not be allowed.
