There is a point in the day when everything feels too loud. Messages come in, plans shift, and the body carries more than it should. For Henny Angelica Dee, that feeling was what led her to the mat.
She first tried Pilates and yoga in 2022, drawn not by trend but by how it made her feel. “While I tried both, I found myself enjoying Pilates more because it felt more beginner-friendly and approachable,” she shares. “It supported my overall wellbeing, not just physically, but mentally as well.”

What started as a routine quickly became something deeper. Practicing two to three times a week, she noticed not just strength and better posture, but a shift in mood and energy. “I felt more energized, lighter, and generally happier throughout the day,” she says. “It became a reliable outlet whenever I felt stressed or even a bit lonely.”
Focus to reconnect
That personal shift became the foundation for TruForm Studio, which opened in early 2026 in Diliman, a neighborhood known for its mix of creativity and community. More than a fitness space, it was designed as an environment where people could slow down and reconnect with themselves.
“For me, mindful movement means being fully present in the moment and completely aware of your body,” Dee explains. “It’s about understanding how each exercise affects your body rather than just going through the motions.”
The studio offers classes for small groups so that beginners do not feel overwhelmed. Coaches guide students through foundational movements, focusing on breathing, alignment, and control before anything else. Neutral tones, soft lighting, and subtle color accents create a setting that feels calm and less intimidating.
“I wanted TruForm to be a space where people feel comfortable trying something new,” Dee says. “A place they can keep coming back to.”

Workout benefits
The studio offers a range of classes, from mat and reformer Pilates to Vinyasa and Yin yoga, with options for one-on-one sessions or small group classes. But what stands out is how the experience extends beyond the workout itself.
“It’s not just about the physical movement,” she says. “It’s about creating a sense of calm and stillness within. That quiet moment becomes something grounding.”
That idea of a “quiet moment” resonates with many who walk through the doors. Dee has personally witnessed how regular practice changes people in ways that go beyond strength or flexibility. “They become more energetic, more positive, more motivated to keep coming back,” she shares.

Shared experience
While Pilates and yoga are often seen as solitary, doing them with others changes the experience. Friends sign up for classes together, encourage each other through more challenging movements, and return week after week. Over time, those shared sessions turn into something more. “Community plays a huge role in wellness today,” Dee says. “You’re not just working on yourself in isolation. You’re moving and improving together.”
For Dee, the studio’s goal is to provide a space for people to pause and focus on themselves. Not just stronger bodies, but lighter minds. “It’s a quiet moment for yourself,” she says. “And sometimes, that’s exactly what people need to begin again.”
