BAGUIO CITY – A photo exhibit in honor of two veteran photographers – Ompong Tan and Neil Clark Ongchangco – who were killed in an accident in Itogon, Benguet on March 27 is ongoing in a popular mall here until May 11.
Featured in the Layag Photography Exhibit are 27 photos created by the Baguio Photographers Club and industry colleagues.
The recent launching was graced by family members, friends, colleagues, and supporters.
Mark Perez, owner of one of the well-known studios here, said Tan inspired him to take up street photography, which has since become his hobby. “It started as a passion and could also become a job, but for me, it’s really just a hobby.”
Ric Maniquis, a veteran photo mentor, said photography has become easier because of technology. “You can do it with your cell phone, that’s the beginning and now many young people are learning photography easily.”
Photographer Art Tibaldo said that photos are important in history. “There are really moments that become part of history.”
