LTO-NIR stops illegal drag race in Bacolod

BACOLOD CITY – The Land Transportation Office-Negros Island Region (LTO-NIR) stopped an illegal motorcycle drag race in Barangay Granada here on Sunday night, April 26, through information from a concerned citizen.
LTO-NIR Director Jeck Conlu monitored the situation on the Bacolod-Negros Occidental Economic Highway (BANOCEH) and coordinated with the Bacolod City Police Office to conduct a late-night joint operation.
Thirteen motorcycles were impounded due to documentation issues and 20 riders were given citation tickets for violating Republic Act 4136 or the Land Transportation and Traffic Code.
The LTO-NIR said the operation reflects their ongoing efforts to promote road safety and enforce laws against illegal street racing and other traffic violations.
