A digital version of your TIN ID can now be accessed in your eGov app.
This is part of the Bureau of Internal Revenue’s (BIR) push for streamlining government transactions and to help reduce fixers, and other illegal activities such as selling TIN IDs.
To access the digital TIN ID in the eGov app, you will need to download the eGov app into your phone. Register, using your correct personal details. Verify registration through email, OTP, and MPIN. Further identity verification will be done through facial recognition.
Once you’ve had all of that setup, you can find your digital TIN ID under Digital ID.
BIR said this will only work if your profile matches their records.
The BIR has worked closely with the Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) to build this feature. It is the next step from the Online Registration and Update System (ORUS) that was introduced in 2023 to help Filipinos get a TIN ID with verifications through QR code scanning.
A reminder, the BIR says a TIN ID is free and is never for sale.
