Japanese investors have raised the issue of corruption as one of their concerns in putting their money to the government’s mass housing amid the efforts of the Department of Human Settlements and Urban Development (DHSUD) said amid efforts to fast-track the program.
DHSUD Secretary Jose Ramon Aliling said it was during their confidence building meeting with the Kizuna Communities that the latter asked for commitment that they would not be victimized.

Aliling himself assured the group that he will personally monitor the entire process to make sure that corruption-related intervention will not have any opportunity, adding that it is part of the department’s agenda.
"As long as the program is corruption-free, more investors will participate. The high credibility of DHSUD should always be maintained to make the program sustainable," said Aliling.
Kizuna Communities later committed to participate in the ongoing nationwide implementation of the mass housing program.
They initially vowed to undertake two socialized housing projects.
Secretary Aliling emphasized the importance of winning the trust and confidence of private investors, especially Japanese developers, to join the flagship housing program.
