- Fresh from his Best Actor win at the Metro Manila Film Festival 2025, Vice Ganda reveals that his planned MMFF 2026 entry will take a bold new direction.
Fresh off a historic Best Actor win at the Metro Manila Film Festival 2025 for "Call Me Mother," Vice Ganda is already stirring excitement hinting that his planned entry for this year’s iteration of the festival will be unlike anything he has done before.
During a recent encounter, the Unkabogable Star told us the project is already well in motion.
“Nakailang meeting na rin naman kami. Nagbe-brainstorm kami every now and then,” Vice shared.
What’s fueling the buzz, however, is his cryptic tease about it being a high-profile collaboration, one he describes as a “pasabog.”
“Bongga yung ka-collab ko this time!” he said with a smile, even as he declined to confirm circulating rumors about him working together with Vic Sotto for the film.
“Hindi ko alam,” he laughed. “Basta, isa siyang pasabog na collab.”
Told that Vic is set to celebrate his 72nd birthday on April 28, Vice said, “Happy, happy birthday, Bossing! I love you for life! Gusto mong magka-movie tayo, Bossing?”
Vice went on to acknowledge that his decision to do a collaboration is hinged on audiences eager to see him share the spotlight after years of carrying box-office hits on his own.
“First time… kasi antagal ko na rin namang nagso-solo movie,” he explained. “So excited din yung mga tao na makita kung sino yung ibang puwede ko pang makasama sa pelikula.”
The shift comes at a pivotal moment in Vice’s career. His performance in "Call Me Mother" directed by Jun Robles Lana, earned him critical acclaim and cemented his evolution beyond comedy into more nuanced roles.
Beyond his acting recognition, Vice is also set to be honored as a Box Office Hero at the The Eddys 2026 by the Society of Philippine Entertainment Editors, further underscoring his dominance in the industry.
