Taguig police net P265K shabu, 4 drug suspects in twin operations
Police arrested four suspects and confiscated shabu valued at P265,200 in separate operations in Barangays New Lower Bicutan and Napindan, part of the city's intensified campaign against street-level drug activities.
On April 27, three suspects -- alias Kevin, 24, a delivery rider; alias Michael, 26, a construction worker; and alias Kelly, 21 -- were apprehended on M.L. Quezon Street in Barangay New Lower Bicutan.
Seized from the suspects were three plastic sachets containing 23.2 grams of shabu worth P157,760.
The three are now under the custody of the Taguig Police Station Drug Enforcement Unit for inquest proceedings. They will face charges for violating Section 11 (possession of dangerous drugs) of Republic Act 9165 (Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002).
In a separate buy-bust operation on April 25 in Barangay Napindan, police arrested a street-level drug suspect identified as alias John Lerry, 31. He yielded 15.8 grams of shabu worth P107,440.
The suspect will be charged for violation of Sections 5 (sale) and 11 of Republic Act 9165.
Col. Glenn Oliver Cinco, Southern Police District director, warned, “To those involved in illegal drugs, this is your warning; stop now or face arrest. As one that enforces the law without hesitation, we will find you and hold you accountable.”
