The Quezon City government is tapping hotels, apartelles, inns, and similar establishments as partners in its campaign against human trafficking through the rollout of the “QC SAFE” Seal, the local government announced on Tuesday, April 28.

According to the city’s Public Information Office, establishments are encouraged to adopt safety measures such as training staff to detect signs of exploitation, enforcing stricter check-in protocols for minors, putting up visible child protection reminders, and assigning a safeguarding officer.

The initiative aims to make accommodation establishments safer spaces while strengthening protection for vulnerable sectors.

The QC SAFE Seal signifies that an establishment meets the city’s standards for safety and protection, making it a trusted space for guests.

Mayor Joy Belmonte said these businesses play an important role in preventing exploitation.

“We count on our accommodation establishments as a vital line of defense against human trafficking,” she said.

The local government is now accepting applications for the QC SAFE Seal through its online platform, with establishments subject to inspection and validation.

Applications may be filed through QC e-Services via the Business Permits and Licensing Department (BPLD).

The LGU added that incentives include faster permit processing, inclusion in tourism promotions, and eligibility for recognition and tax perks, depending on compliance.
