Controversial contractor Pacifico “Curlee” Discaya will be undergoing a surgery for his shoulder this week or next week.
Senate Secretary Mark Llandro Mendoza disclosed this in an interview, saying the Senate has approved his request to get medical treatment after it was also approved by the Upper Chamber’s in-house doctor.
Discaya, who is currently under the custody of the Senate, is the lone remaining detainee of the Senate Blue Ribbon Committee in connection with its investigation into the anomalous flood control projects.
“He’s scheduled for surgery on his right shoulder,” Mendoza said in Filipino in an interview, adding that Discaya will be hospitalized for seven (7) days.
Afterwards, he said Discaya will return to the Senate where he will spend his recovery.
Mendoza, however, declined to divulge the name of the hospital where Discaya will undergo surgery for security reasons.
He also said access to Discaya, even by members of his family, would be restricted at this time.
