Pinoy pride indeed!
Entertainment magazine Billboard is once again spotlighting Filipino talent at its annual Billboard Women in Music Awards, enlisting model and actress Cara Delevingne to present the Global Force Award to P-pop group BINI.
The annual awards honor women in the music industry who have made meaningful contributions and inspire future generations to take on roles and leadership within the field.
BINI was named a Global Force honoree after their historic performance at the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival, where they became the first Filipino girl group to perform there.
Aside from BINI, Filipino-American content creator Bella Poarch is also being honored with the Global Force Award.
Cara and Bella were unveiled as presenters by Billboard alongside Brandi Carlile, Ciara, Coco Jones, Dionne Warwick, Eva Longoria, Victoria Monét, Kim Petras, Lainey Wilson, and Tyla.
Huntr/x—the vocal trio behind “KPop Demon Hunters,” featuring EJAE, Audrey Nuna, and Rei Ami—will receive the night’s top honor, Woman of the Year.
In 2024, Sarah Geronimo took home the Global Force Award and closed her acceptance speech with a message of courage and hope delivered in Filipino.
