Brother Philippines marks 25 years of innovation, empowerment, and sustainability
Brother Philippines celebrates its 25th anniversary in the country, marking a significant milestone defined by innovation, creativity, and unwavering support for Filipino entrepreneurs and consumers.
Since entering the Philippine market in 2000, the company has grown from a modest operation into a multibillion-peso enterprise. In its early years, Brother Philippines recorded over ₱65 million in sales and steadily expanded its footprint beyond Metro Manila. From its first provincial office in Cebu, the company now operates a nationwide network that includes Davao, Naga, Pampanga, Iloilo, Cagayan de Oro, Tuguegarao, and Zamboanga, along with several concept stores in major malls.
Over the years, Brother has continuously evolved its product lineup, offering a wide range of printers, labelers, sewing machines, and advanced solutions. These include Wi-Fi-enabled embroidery machines, cutting and craft machines, as well as newer innovations like the PureDrive spot cooler.

A key milestone came in 2014 with the appointment of Glenn Hocson as the company’s first Filipino president—an important step in aligning the brand more closely with local market needs. Today, Brother Philippines remains a vital contributor to the global Brother network, consistently achieving strong revenue growth.
“Brother’s 25th year in the Philippines is not just a celebration of our growth as a company, but also a testament to the trust Filipinos have placed in us. We achieved this milestone by upholding our commitment to delivering innovative products and exceptional customer satisfaction, enabling businesses to thrive and unleash their creativity through our offerings. Having said that, I’d also like to emphasize that our goal has always been to provide more than just technology; we are here to provide solutions. As our slogan ‘At Your Side’ goes, we are your reliable partner in achieving whatever goal, dream, or endeavor you may have,” Hocson stated.
Driving Productivity and Empowering SMEs
Brother Philippines has built a strong reputation for reliability, helping boost productivity and creativity in both homes and businesses. Its impact is particularly evident in the growth of small and medium enterprises (SMEs).
Since 2012, the company’s PR Machine Embroidery Caravan has provided seminars and hands-on training for aspiring entrepreneurs in the custom embroidery space. Beyond training, Brother continues to support small businesses by offering printing and crafting solutions that enable them to expand their services and strengthen their livelihoods.
Among its success stories is Niño Palao of NA Palao Trading, who transformed a garments business into a thriving embroidery venture using Brother machines. By producing customized apparel, such as shirts, sportswear, jackets, and uniforms, the business has grown into a profitable enterprise. Similarly, Melanie Lim-Magboo of Happy Home Textile credits Brother’s embroidery machines for helping expand her company’s customization capabilities.
In recognition of its impact on entrepreneurship, Brother Philippines received the Social Empowerment Award at the Asia Responsible Entrepreneurship Awards by Enterprise Asia in 2014. Its strong regional presence and diverse product offerings continue to provide tailored solutions for SMEs across the country.
Championing Sustainability and Community Development
Beyond business growth, Brother Philippines has made sustainability and community empowerment central to its mission.
Launched in 2007, the company’s Green Project is a flagship initiative aimed at reducing environmental impact across the entire product lifecycle—from development to disposal. Initially focused on collecting and recycling used printer cartridges, the program has expanded to include ink bottle collection and the promotion of responsible recycling practices among customers.
More than just a recycling effort, the Green Project
aligns with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 12 (Responsible Consumption and Production) and SDG 13 (Climate Action).
Brother Philippines also actively participates in environmental initiatives, including annual coastal cleanups in Batangas to help reduce marine pollution and protect biodiversity. In 2025, the company took part in a mangrove reforestation effort in San Juan, Batangas, planting 1,200 mangrove propagules.
Its commitment to community development is equally strong. For over a decade, Brother Philippines has supported Iñigan Elementary School in Rizal through donations of school supplies and employee volunteer efforts. Over time, this partnership has expanded to include solar panel installations, water system upgrades, and the provision of technology to enhance the learning environment.
During the pandemic, the company adapted its efforts by donating printers and learning kits to support distance education. In 2023, it continued this support by providing laptops and additional printers to assist both teachers and school administrators.
Looking Ahead
As it moves beyond its 25-year milestone, Brother Philippines is focused on the future, driven by continuous innovation and evolving customer needs.
The company is enhancing its product lineup with modern technologies, including high-efficiency and sustainable printers, as well as sublimation printers designed for SMEs and creative entrepreneurs. Its latest generation of printers and embroidery machines is integrated with the Artspira App, a free wireless design platform that enables users to create and customize with ease.
The Professional Embroidery (PR Series) has also been upgraded with features such as wireless LAN connectivity, built-in designs, and improved screen controls. Meanwhile, subscription-based services like Toner Management, All in Click, and Print Box offer added convenience for businesses.
Expanding beyond traditional offerings, Brother Philippines has also introduced the PureDrive spot cooler, an eco-friendly cooling solution designed for tight spaces and high-temperature environments.
Beyond 25 Years
With a strong foundation built on innovation, sustainability, and community impact, Brother Philippines is poised for continued growth. As it enters its next chapter, the company remains committed to empowering Filipino businesses, supporting communities, and delivering solutions that meet the demands of a rapidly changing world.
“We are in the business of providing reliable products and solutions, and for the next 25 years, we will continue to champion innovation in everything we do. As they say, innovation is not just about what technology can do but what technology can do for people. Brother is all about making work and life seamless for users and customers, and we will stay committed to that mission,” Hocson concluded.
