Two individuals with previous drug-related cases were arrested in a pre-dawn police buy-bust operation on Tuesday, April 28, in Barangay Payatas, Quezon City, which yielded about P374,000 worth of suspected shabu, following a tip from a concerned citizen.
Batasan Police Station (PS 6) officers, led by Police Lt. Col. Aljun Belista, launched the operation at around 5:00 a.m. at No. 21 Everlasting St., Area A, after validating reports of alleged drug activity in the area.
Police identified the suspects as alias “Emmie,” 44, and Dennis, 44, both residents of the barangay.
A police officer acting as poseur-buyer was able to purchase P10,000 worth of shabu from alias “Emmie,” triggering the arrest of the suspects.
Recovered from the suspects were around 55 grams of suspected shabu valued at P374,000, the marked buy-bust money, a cellular phone, and a coin purse.
Police said both suspects were previously charged for violation of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
Latest charges will be filed before the Quezon City Prosecutor’s Office.
Quezon City Police District director Police Brig. Gen. Randy Glenn Silvio commended the operation, underscoring continued public cooperation in the anti-illegal drugs campaign.
