The Quezon City government clinched four honors at the 20th Gandingan Awards held at the University of the Philippines Los Baños on Saturday, April 25.
Mayor Joy Belmonte was hailed as "Gandingan ng Kalikasan" for her environmental programs and policy initiatives in Quezon City.
The city’s Public Affairs and Information Services Department (PAISD) also earned three distinctions for its development-oriented communication campaigns.
These included “LoveLaban sa Diliman Pride Month Celebration,” cited as Most Development-Oriented Gender Transformative Program; “Special Report: Model Barangays,” named Most Development-Oriented Short-Form Video Series; and “May Forever sa QC: Sakay sa Electric Bus,” recognized as Most Development-Oriented Photograph/Photo Story.
Belmonte was represented at the ceremony by Majority Floor Leader Councilor Aly Medalla.
PAISD head Engelbert Apostol, along with department personnel, personally received the awards during the ceremony.
