ILOILO CITY — The Department of Energy (DOE) cited Iloilo-based MORE Electric and Power Corp. (MORE Power) and Negros Electric and Power Corp. (Negros Power) in central Negros for their role in enabling better grid monitoring, outage prevention, and policy reforms.
The two utilities under Razon group’s Primelectric Holdings Inc. were awarded with plaques signed by Undersecretary Rowena Cristina L. Guevarra for strict adherence to DOE’s circular by providing data-driven reports in 2025.
The submission of data-driven reports by MORE Power and Negros Power supports DOE’s need for accurate and timely ground data for the Visayas power grid, which needs analysis particularly after the recurring El Niño phenomenon and reaching its electrification targets by 2028.
“Full compliance equips DOE with important insights that may contribute to accelerating projects like grid modernization and rollouts of renewable projects,” said Primelectric President and CEO Roel Z. Castro.
“Timely reporting helps streamline DOE approvals, cuts delays, and aids in advancing national electrification targets,” added Castro.
