Bulacan residents told to brace for staggered power cuts

Meralco announced scheduled power interruptions in parts of Bulacan from April 28 to 30 due to maintenance works, affecting areas in Bocaue, Marilao, and Balagtas.

These are the affected areas:
April 30 – May 1, 2026 - Bulacan (Meycauayan City) From 11:00 p.m. (Thursday, April 30) to 4:00 a.m. (Friday, May 1, 2026) – Portion of Circuit Veinte Reales 415VNR
Portion of MacArthur Highway from ACA Road to and including A. Marcelo, Bartolome, S. Bernardo, A. Blanco, Overland, Quimpo and San Simon St.; San Simon Subd. and Encarnacion Compound; Jollibee, SSS Valenzuela Branch, Mitsubishi Valenzuela, Toyota Valenzuela, BingoPlus Manly Valenzuela, Contract Packaging Corporation of the Philippines, Extensive Wood, Powertrunking System Inc. and Alwins Enterprises in Bgys. Dalandanan and Malanday in Valenzuela City.
Portion of ACA Road MacArthur Highway in Bgy. Malanday, Valenzuela City to Bancal St. Ext. in Bgy. Bancal, Meycauayan City, Bulacan including Yakal St.; and First Valenzuela Industrial Compound (FVIC); Lacko Plastic Products Inc. in Bgy. The power service interruption will be due to the relocation of facilities, installation of poles and primary lines along MacArthur Highway in Bgy. Dalandanan, Valenzuela City.

Duhat, Bocaue to near A's Hardware & Construction Supplies including Laot St.; SGK Development Corp. and NGC BPO Tower 1 in Bgy. Patubig, Marilao; Gonzales and H. Delos Santos Sts.; Saffron Hills Subd.; Autophil Zone Sales Corp., Dragon Wellness Farms Inc. and JKM Dela Pierre Hardware in Bgy. Duhat, Bocaue.
Portion of Gitna St. (Mendoza St.) from Duhat Road to near Aiah’s Store including portion of Sitio Balubaran in Bgy. Duhat, Bocaue.
The service interruption is due to the replacement and installation of facilities, and line reconductoring works in Bgy. Duhat, Bocaue; and Bgy. Patubig, Marilao in Bulacan.

Residents were advised to prepare as the outages come amid sweltering weather.

Small businesses, particularly sellers of cold drinks and ice cream, expressed concern over lost income.
Many said they plan to stock up on ice blocks to cope with the scheduled power service interruption.
