Based on the investigation of the Antipolo Component City Police Station, the victim parked his motorcycle unattended in front of their residence in Barangay Dela Paz, Antipolo City, at around 11 p.m. on Friday, April 24.
On Saturday, April 25, the victim’s brother arrived at their house around 5 a.m. and discovered that their main door had been forcibly opened, prompting him to wake the victim and their father.
They checked their belongings and found that two mobile phones and a motorcycle key placed on top of a table were missing, confirming that the victim’s motorcycle was also stolen.
Authorities added that the victim’s family received a message on Messenger from an account logged in on one of the stolen phones, which the suspect allegedly used to demand payment for the return of the stolen motorcycle and provided an e-wallet number.
They immediately sought police assistance. Upon verification, the suspect’s provided e-wallet number was traced to Teresa, Rizal.
This prompted a follow-up operation that led to the arrest of the suspect, identified as “Jim.” All the stolen items were also recovered.
He is now under police custody and may face charges for carnapping and robbery.
