President Marcos has declared special non-working days in 13 municipalities and cities in the country.
Through separate proclamations, Marcos declared the holidays allowing residents to celebrate their local festivals and anniversaries.
Under Proclamation No. 1224, signed on April 20, the President declared July 23 a special non-working day in Gingoog City in Misamis Oriental for the celebration of its 66th Charter Day and 47th Kalinga Festival.
Proclamation No. 1225, signed on April 21, proclaimed May 5 a special non-working day in Santiago City in Isabela for the commemoration of its Cityhood Anniversary.
May 8, Friday, was declared as special non-working day in several municipalities for their respective founding anniversaries.
These municipalities are President Roxas in Cotabato, Caramoan in Camarines Sur, and Bayog in Zamboanga del Sur.
The holiday in areas were declared under Proclamation Nos. 1226, 1227, and 1228.
May 9, Saturday, was also declared as special non-working day in the municipality of San Jose, Negros Oriental for the celebration of its Charter Day.
It was approved under Proclamation No. 1229.
May 11, Monday, is also a special non-working day in Llanera, Nueva Ecija, according to Proclamation No. 1230, for the municipality's 71st founding anniversary.
May 11 was likewise declared as special non-working day in Aparri, Cagayan for its 346th founding anniversary. It was declared under Proclamation No. 1231.
May 15, Friday, was declared as special non-working day in Saraiya, Quezon for the celebration of Agawan Festival, in Gigmoto, Catanduanes for its founding anniversary, and in Tayabas, Quezon for the celebration of Mayohan sa Tayabas Festival.
These were approved under Proclamation Nos. 1232, 1233, and 1236.
Marcos declared May 21, Thursday, as a special non-working day in Malabon City for its 427th founding anniversary, under Proclamation NO. 1234.
The President also declared May 26, Tuesday, a special non-working day in Baliwag. Bulacan for its founding anniversary. It was declared through Proclamation No. 1235.
