Following their standout run in Season 4 of the reality talent show "Your Face Sounds Familiar," Star Magic artists Jarlo Base and BGYO member Akira Morishita look back on some of their most unforgettable moments from the competition.
For Jarlo, it was the time when he nearly backed out of the competition entirely. The nerves, he admitted, almost got the better of him before he even stepped on stage.
"Naalala ko yung pinaka first performance ko as Usher, nandun na po ako sa iconator tapos right before the performance, kaba-kabang kasi po ako nun, sabi ko sa sarili 'teka lang bakit ko ba kailangan gawin ito, pwede naman ako umalis, papagalitan lang naman nila ako e," Jarlo said during the Star Magic spotlight press con.
The thought of walking away lingered as the moment drew closer.
"Onting-onti na lang po talaga tatalikod na po ako pero sabi ko kaya ko ito, and Lord ikaw na bahala sa akin. So, during that performance, I let go and thankfully naman tinuloy ko siya," he added.
Akira echoed the same feeling of doubt during the competition. He also admitted there were moments when he considered stepping away, but chose to continue pushing forward instead.

"Madami po akong ganung experienced kasi nasanay po ako na ng nasa group, kaya po first time ko po magperform ng ako lang magisa tapos my ginagaya pa po akong icon, kaya hindi talaga mawawala yung kaba," Akira said.
Looking back on their journey in the show, Jarlo shared that one of his most challenging transformations was portraying the late Amy Winehouse. Meanwhile, Akira pointed to his performance as BLACKPINK’s Lisa as one of his toughest and most memorable roles.
Beyond the trophies and high scores, both artists agreed that the best part of the experience is the friendships that they have built with each other along the way.
"Dun ko unang nafeel na hindi ko lang pala work friends lang pala ‘to, friends ko talaga, family. Patapos na yung season eh, dun ko nafeel na ‘ah mamimiss ko talaga silang lahat." Jarlo said.
Looking ahead, both Star Magic artists are set to expand their creative horizons. Akira is gearing up for more projects with BGYO, while Jarlo continues to hone his singer-songwriter skills in his upcoming solo releases.
Despite their individual growth, the two artists are open to working again with each other in the future.
