Couple found dead in Tanay home; marital dispute eyed

An alleged parricide was reported inside a house in Tanay, Rizal on Sunday, April 26, where a woman was found dead while her husband, who is being pointed to as the suspect, was found hanging.

According to the Tanay Municipal Police Station (Tanay MPS), the bodies were discovered by the husband’s mother, who went to visit the couple at their house in Barangay Wawa at around 9 a.m. on Sunday.
However, she received no response from inside the house, prompting her to enter the premises.
Upon opening the room, authorities said the mother was shocked to discover her daughter-in-law lying on the bed, covered in blood, while her son was found hanging from the ceiling using a black nylon rope.
She immediately sought assistance from nearby neighbors, who reported the incident to authorities.
During the initial investigation, authorities looked into a marital dispute as a possible motive after a witness reported hearing the couple engaged in a heated argument on Saturday, April 25, before the discovery of their bodies.
Authorities have yet to disclose the cause of death of the woman, as well as whether any weapon was used in the incident.
The investigation is ongoing.
