BTS kicks off 'Arirang' North American Tour in Florida, sells out stadium shows across 12 cities
K-pop superstars BTS kicked off their “Arirang” world tour in North America on April 25 after holding it in Goyang, South Korea, and Tokyo, Japan.
The first day of the concert in Tampa, Florida was held at Raymond James Stadium. It will be followed by two more shows on April 26 and 28.
They will hold a total of 31 performances across 12 North American cities, including El Paso, Mexico City, and New York.
This is BTS’ first concert in the US in about four years since the “BTS Permission to Dance on Stage” held in Las Vegas in April 2022.
Tickets quickly sold out for all shows, and additional performances were scheduled in Tampa, Stanford, and Las Vegas.
Ahead of the concert, Tampa Mayor Jane Castor welcomed BTS with a video and said bridges and the old city hall would be illuminated purple.
“You light the city PURPLE. Tampa’s bridges and Old City Hall will be illuminated purple to welcome @bts.bighitofficial and the BTS ARMY April 25-29! All 3 shows (25th, 26th & 28th) will be DYNAMITE, and they couldn’t have picked a better city for the first North American stop on their world tour,” she posted on Instagram.
Tampa International Airport set up a BTS balloon arch and pop-up shop at the main terminal.
After Tampa, BTS will hold the tour in El Paso, Texas at the Sun Bowl on May 2-3, becoming the first Korean singers to do so.
