Man punched to death by elder brother in Laguna

LUMBAN, Laguna – A 26-year-old man was punched to death by his elder brother during an altercation in Barangay Lewin here on Friday morning, April 24.
Police identified the victim as Ian.
Investigation said the victim and the suspect Taguro, 46, were having a drinking session when Taguro adjusted a speaker that irritated and enraged the victim.
Ian picked up a screwdriver and stabbed his brother in the body. Taguro retaliated by punching the victim multiple times until he slumped to the ground and sustained a swelling on the head.
The suspect stopped attacking after Ian lost consciousness and his mouth foaming. Ian was declared dead by the Rural Health Unit.
Police arrested Taguro and detained at the Lumban police station for proper disposition. Relatives of the victim refused an autopsy on his body. Taguro faces appropriate cases.
