A 24-year-old construction worker was arrested after pulling a gun on a passerby in Barangay Ugong, Valenzuela City, at 2 a.m. on Friday, April 24.
Polcie said the suspect approached a passerby and demanded information about a certain individual.
When the victim denied any knowledge, the suspect reportedly became enraged, drew a firearm, and threatened to shoot, prompting the victim to flee and report the incident to authorities.
Police operatives from Sub-Station 8 of the Valenzuela City Police Station (VCPS) immediately responded, tracked the suspect, and arrested him shortly after the incident.
Recovered from the suspect during a lawful search was a caliber 9mm Glock replica with a magazine.
He failed to present any legal documents authorizing possession of the firearm.
Charges for grave threats and violation of Republic Act 10591 or the Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act will be filed against the suspect through inquest proceedings.
Northern Police District director Police Brig. Gen. Christopher R. Dela Cruz commended the arresting units, citing the operation as a reflection of effective police response and sustained efforts to maintain peace and order.
