Shell Pilipinas to cut fuel prices by ₱5 starting April 24
Shell Pilipinas Corp. will slash fuel prices by ₱5 pesos per liter for one week starting Friday, as the local unit of the global energy giant seeks to capture larger share of the domestic retail market amid fluctuating global oil benchmarks.
In a statement, Shell said the promotional discount, which runs from April 24 to April 30, applies to all fuel grades at participating stations. To qualify for the price reduction, motorists driving four-wheel vehicles must make a minimum purchase of ₱1,500, while those on two-wheel vehicles are required to spend at least ₱200 pesos.
Shell, however, capped the total discount at ₱200 per transaction.
The company is encouraging motorists to stack the temporary price cuts with its existing loyalty ecosystem, including the Shell Go+ and SMAC programs. These platforms allow customers to earn points on purchases that function as cash equivalents within the station network.
Furthermore, the company highlighted its partnership with UnionBank of the Philippines, noting that holders of the Shell Power Card can receive rebates of as much as five percent on their total fuel expenditure.
Beyond the retail consumer segment, Shell is deepening its involvement in state-led initiatives aimed at mitigating the impact of energy costs on the logistics and transport sectors.
The company is participating in the Department of Energy’s diesel subsidy program, which provides a significant ₱10 per liter discount for public utility vehicles.
Shell indicated that additional discounts for public utility vehicles and transport network vehicle services are also available at approximately 450 stations nationwide.
