Ryan Agoncillo on Judy Ann Santos working with romantic leading men: 'Subukan mo'
Actor and TV host Ryan Agoncillo made it clear he is not keen on his wife, Judy Ann Santos, sharing romantic scenes with other actors.
The couple spoke about jealousy during a guest appearance on Matteo Guidicelli’s talk show, “Matter G Primetime.”
Asked who between them gets jealous more easily, the conversation turned to whether they would allow each other to work opposite another leading actor.
Judy Ann said she would have no issue with Ryan taking on a project with a female co-star.
But when it comes to Judy Ann working with a male co-star, Ryan instantly blurted, “Subukan niya.”
Judy Ann, for her part, said her husband would more likely say “go ahead” than “subukan mo,” prompting Ryan to admit the latter was simply his inner thought.
After 16 years together, Ryan said this dynamic has long defined their relationship, especially when they take on separate projects.
“I guess that’s the message I send her. On the surface, these are quality people—they know what they’re doing. It’s always been that way with us from the beginning,” he said. “I’d tell her, ‘Sige, tignan ko kung saan ka pupunta. Susunod naman ako. Kung hindi ako sumunod, alam mo na ’yung sagot.’”
Ryan believes their relationship has endured partly because Judy Ann is trusted to make her own decisions.
“These decisions—of course, if it works for me, hindi na ako aangal o makikipag-away,” he added. “But if it doesn’t, she’ll consult me, and I’ll say, ‘Sige, gawin mo—saka na natin pag-awayan.’”
