CEBU CITY – The Bureau of Customs (BOC)-Port of Cebu exceeded its target collection for March.
The port said it collected a total of P4,342,166,104.52, surpassing the P4,320,972,985.51 target by P21,193,119.01.
The collection performance marked a significant 14.94 percent year-on-year increase, outperforming March 2025 by P564,296,602.93, the port said.
The strong monthly output capped off the port's successful opening quarter this year.
The port’s first-quarter collections reached P12,357,646,083.63, surpassing the P11,970,460,834.76 target by P387,185,248.87 (3.23 percent). This also represented a steady 1.53 percent growth, equivalent to an increase of P186,291,108.48 compared to the first quarter of the previous year.
The port said the monthly collection in March marked the third consecutive month that it exceeded its assigned monthly target for fiscal year 2026, and the fourth straight month of surpassing targets since December 2025.
Exceeding the monthly collection underscored the continued momentum of the port under the leadership of District Collector Alexandra Yap-Lumontad, driven by strengthened enforcement, improved processes, and sustained operational efficiency.
Lumontad emphasized the broader impact of the achievement. "Every peso we collect represents more than revenue. It reflects disciplined governance, stronger compliance, and our responsibility to deliver resources that fund essential services for the Filipino people. Sustaining this performance shows that we are not only meeting targets, but strengthening the systems that make efficient, transparent, and accountable customs service possible,” Lumontad said.
