Japanese girl group XG returning to Manila after two years
Members of Japanese girl group XG announced their second world tour, titled “The Core,” with Manila among its scheduled stops.
“See you soon, Alphaz in Bangkok, Manila, Taipei, Melbourne and Sydney,” the group said in a social media post on April 23, referring to their fanbase.
The tour will support the group’s first full-length album, also titled “The Core,” marking their return to the Philippines after two years.
The Manila concert is set for July 22 at the SM Mall of Asia Arena.
The group previously performed in Manila during their first world tour, “The First Howl,” in August 2024.
General ticket sales will open April 30 via smtickets.com.
“The Core” world tour opened in Japan with multiple sold-out shows in Yokohama, Osaka, and Nagoya.
The tour feature performances of the group’s popular tracks, including “Left Right” and “Woke Up,” as well as newer songs such as “Hypnotize” and “Rock The Boat.”
The group’s first world tour in 2024 included 47 shows across 35 cities, drawing an estimated 400,000 attendees. Its final stop at Tokyo Dome on May 14 last year gathered a crowd of around 50,000.
At Coachella in April 2025, XG was the only Japanese act on the lineup, headlining the Sahara stage and receiving strong reviews from both Japanese and international media.
