A fire struck a junk shop warehouse in Barangay San Bartolome, Novaliches, Quezon City at 1:05 a.m. on Friday, April 24.
The Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) said the fire broke out in the area near the entrance of Pascualer Village Homeowners Association in the said barangay.
The incident was placed under first alarm at 1:17:32 a.m., according to the BFP.
At least seven fire trucks were deployed to the scene as thick smoke and strong flames engulfed the area.
Nearby residents assisted in the response, while others were advised to stay away for safety.
A resident told Manila Bulletin that houses located at the back portion of the affected area were affected by the fire.
Two trucks were reportedly burned, the resident added.
The BFP said the fire was brought under control and eventually extinguished at around 3:30 a.m.
Authorities have yet to determine the cause of the fire as investigation and monitoring continue.
